A shocking and alarming incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 27, 2023, on Highway 17 near Brunswick, Glynn County, Georgia. A family, comprising a father, mother, and their two small children, faced a terrifying situation while traveling north near the Sidney Lanier Bridge and the Port of Brunswick area.
According to reports, as the family approached the port area, two vehicles abruptly cut off their car. The father was forced to slam on the brakes to avoid a collision. In the midst of this, one of the vehicles quickly left the scene, but a silver sedan menacingly pulled up beside the family’s vehicle. From this sedan, multiple shots were fired at the family’s car.
Tragically, the father and mother were struck by bullets in this unprovoked attack. The father was grazed by a bullet, while the mother, who was seated in the front passenger seat, sustained a more serious injury after being shot in the neck. Despite these horrifying circumstances, the two children in the vehicle miraculously escaped physical harm.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the family rushed to a local hospital. The mother received medical treatment for her neck wound, while the father, despite being hit, refused treatment. The children, thankfully, were unharmed and did not require medical attention.
The Glynn County Police Department is actively investigating this disturbing incident. They have appealed to the public for any information that might assist in their investigation.
