Welcoming the start of 2024, the weather in our area promises a pleasant beginning to the New Year, followed by a dynamic week ahead. The first day of January greets us with mostly sunny skies and cool temperatures, starting in the 40s and warming up to the upper 60s by the afternoon. However, a shift is expected as a dry cold front rolls in on Tuesday, bringing breezier and chillier conditions, with temperatures dipping into the mid to upper 50s. Southeast Georgia, along with Columbia and Baker counties, might even experience a light inland freeze on Tuesday night, with frost potentially reaching as far south as the I-10 corridor.
The calm weather gives way to rain by Wednesday afternoon, continuing into the night. The cool trend persists throughout the week, with heavier rainfall anticipated on Saturday.
