Today, the St. Johns County community comes together to celebrate the life of 46-year-old Eiffel Gilyana, a beloved father and active community member, whose untimely passing has deeply affected many. Gilyana, who vanished nearly two weeks ago while canoeing at Vilano Beach, was known for his impactful presence in the community and his love for paddling.
Eiffel Gilyana, a father of three, dedicated his life to wellness as the fitness and wellness director at the Jacksonville Community Alliance. He also served as a veteran and a board member for Hydro Task Force 1, an organization committed to aiding emotional healing through water activities for military personnel, first responders, and veterans.
Described by Leo Yui and others from Task Force Hydro1 as a humble and selfless individual, Gilyana’s approach to life was marked by his eagerness to uplift those around him. His warm smile and genuine concern for others’ well-being left a lasting impression on his community.
The ceremony to honor Gilyana’s legacy is scheduled for 3 p.m. today at the Jacksonville Community Alliance, an organization where he contributed significantly. Additionally, his funeral is set for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, providing another opportunity for those he touched to pay their respects.
