In Jacksonville, Florida, a shocking incident occurred early Sunday when a shooting led to a car crashing into the Virginian Arms Apartments at 2501 Jammes Road. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that around 3:30 a.m., a man and a woman were leaving the apartment complex in a car when they came under gunfire. The female driver, struck by the gunfire, lost control of the vehicle, resulting in the car slamming into the apartment building. This collision not only created a substantial hole in the building’s wall but also ruptured the complex’s water lines.
Fortunately, the woman driving the car survived the crash and is currently hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The man accompanying her in the vehicle, however, escaped physical harm. As a consequence of the incident, the Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) had to cut off water supply to the area. By 3 p.m. Sunday, JEA officials confirmed that water service had been restored, though some residents might experience low water pressure temporarily.
This alarming event has left residents and authorities unsettled, as the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation. Police are actively working to determine whether the assailant, or assailants, fled the scene on foot or by vehicle.
