The Social Security System (SSS) in the Philippines has extended its deadline for employers and Coverage and Collection Partners (CCP) to remit their workers’ contributions to December 29, 2023. This extension allows business employers to pay their workers’ contributions for September and October 2023 by the new deadline. However, payments for November 2023 and subsequent months must adhere to the regular payment deadline, which is the last day of the following month.
Household employers and CCPs also have until December 29 to submit their contributions for the period from July to September 2023. For contributions pertaining to October 2023 and beyond, the standard deadline applies, which is the last day of the month following the applicable month or quarter.
Additionally, SSS has adjusted the deadline for submitting sickness notifications for home confinement. Employers can submit sickness notifications covering the period from October 20 to December 19, 2023, until December 29, 2023. For sickness notifications from December 20, 2023, onwards, the regular filing period will be followed, where employers are given five days to submit these notifications to the SSS after receiving them from their employees.
